7 Days Bwindi Gorillas & Serengeti Wildlife Safari

Your 7 days Bwindi & Serengeti Safari allows travellers to discover rich wildlife of Uganda, the Pearl of Africa as well as Tanzania, a home to African safaris in only one week. For the first three day, we shall explore Uganda in a gorilla trekking adventure and the remaining days to explore the richness of Tanzania’s wilderness through game drives, walking safaris and birding tours.

Detailed itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival into Uganda and Hotel drop-off.

On arriving at Uganda’s main point of entry-Entebbe International Airport for the start of the 7 days Bwindi & Serengeti Safari, we receive a warm welcome from the expert safari driver. She/he will first offer orientation on the different destinations to be explored and later be dropped off at the Hotel in Kampala City. Take all the time to settle in and relax from the jet lag as well as save your energy for the start of the safari.

Day 2: Scenic drive from Uganda’s Capital to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a delicious breakfast, check-out of the Hotel for a scenic drive towards western Uganda via Masaka-Mbarara highway. There will be a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for a photo session, cup of coffee and possible get some snacks as well as equator experiment that will mesmerize you.

Continue with the scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with another stop at Igongo Cultural Center or Mbarara City for lunch. Learn about Ankole culture and arrive at Bwindi late in the evening for dinner and slumber.

Day 3: Half day Gorilla Trekking Adventure and Batwa Cultural Experience

This is one of the few days in your life that will hold the best memories and to make it memorable, begin with breakfast at the Lodge. Afterwards, assemble at the Park Headquarters by 7:00am for briefing on the rules and regulations of trekking endangered mountain gorillas followed by allocating visitors to the habituated gorilla groups.

Proceed to the misty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to search for one of the World’s most sought-after wildlife species in their natural habitat and this takes one hour to almost a full day, depending on the location of the mountain gorillas. This long time searching for mountain gorillas needs patience and commitment because a great reward awaits those that make it to the end.

One hour to observe and photograph them foraging, playing, resting and grooming under the watchful eye of the silverback will make your day. Lunch will be at the Lodge and in the evening enjoy the Batwa Cultural Experience to learn about the rich history, local cuisines, traditional architectural designs, cultural dances and way of living of the people.

Day 4: Drive to Kigali City / Entebbe and take a flight to Arusha Airport.

An early start with breakfast leads us to Kigali City/International Airport for a scheduled flight to Tanzania’s Arusha Airport. Arrive on time for a transfer to the Hotel for meals and overnight.

Day 5: Scenic drive from the Town of Arusha to Serengeti National Park, in the northern circuit.

Visitors are picked up from the designated place of lodging and the route from Arusha Town to the spectacular Serengeti National Park in the northern circuit is about 6-7 hours long. This scenic drive takes you through the stunning sceneries of Tanzania and down the escarpment before stopping for refreshments and snacks along the way.

Arrive your reserved place of lodging by late afternoon, freshen-up and unwind before its time to depart for an evening game drive in the sweeping Serengeti National Park plains. Dine under the stars and slumber at some of the best places of lodging in this Park.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park – full day game drive.

Be up early for hot beverages, snacks, tropical fruits and freshly-squeezed juice before departing for the full-day sunrise game drive in Serengeti National Park. If you are familiar with Africa, you will agree that it is one of the best and most rewarding game drive with sights of jackals, African bush elephants, wildebeests, lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, gazelles, cheetahs, Masai giraffes, yellow baboons, warthogs, African wild dogs, zebras, serval cats and others.

Enjoy a picnic lunch and continue with the game drive with chances of witnessing the wildebeest migration. The Full-day game drive ends by sunset before driving back to the Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park, in northern circuit of Tanzania and return trip to Arusha Town.

After a hearty leisurely breakfast, depart for the return journey to Arusha Town. Visitors will be taken to the Hotel or Airport, if required. A scenic drive to the town comes with breathtaking sceneries and you will arrive late in the afternoon. This marks the end of your 7 days Bwindi & Serengeti Safari.
