Covering an area of about 5,308 square kilometers making it the largest national park in the Pearl of Africa, Murchison falls national park offers one of the best experiences to every traveler. This National Park has pleasant wilderness characterized by rolling grasslands and wooded savannahs.
The park is also dominated by big game mammals and is the only place in Uganda where tourists can be assured of seeing the Big Five animals. The magnificent falls “Murchison falls” are the major highlight of the park and offer a spectacular experience to the visitors as they watch waters making gigantic movements and roaring noise against the overhanging rocks.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala city to Murchison falls national park.
Early in the morning after breakfast at any hotel of your choice, our professional driver will lead you on the way to this mighty Murchison falls national park northwestwards through Bombo, Luwero, Nakasongola towns, the journey is characterized by views of rolling hills and dramatic landscape plus a stopover in Masindi town for lunch.
If time allows, continue to the top of the Murchison falls at the Bakers’ summit to marvel at the spectacular River Nile dropping in a wave of rapids through the Western Rift Valley. Transfer to the booked lodge for relaxation, supper and spend a night in preparation for the coming events the following day.
Day 2: Morning Game drive, boat cruise and visiting the falls.
Having had a delicious morning breakfast, embark on the early sunrise game drive in the northern sector of the park from where you stand chances of seeing several bird and animal species such as elephants, cape buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, to mention but a few. Bird species include but not limited to; napped mouse bird, secretary bird, black-chested eagle, swallow-tailed bee-eaters and the rare shoebill stork.
Make a return to the lodge for a lip-smirking lunch and relaxation before embarking on the afternoon boat cruise that will take you all the way to the bottom of the magical Murchison falls.
You will reach at the point where River Nile plunges through the narrow crevice and over forty – meter drop. Along the way, you will have to see Nile crocodile, hippopotamuses plus a number of bird and animals species.
Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Hot air balloon ride (optional) and return to Kampala city via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Departure.
Wake up early morning at sunrise and join the hot air balloon team and turn your moments at Murchison falls national park into memories. The sunrise air balloon introduces you to a number of wild game as you view the park from almost 360 degrees. Enjoy giraffes as they stretch in effort to observe the balloon that flies slightly above them. Other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, hippopotamuses, lions, may all be seen during this adventurous experience.
Return to the lodge for late breakfast and check out as you embark on the way back to k city – Kampala via the magical Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the best and sole destination for spotting Rhinoceroses in Uganda.
You can choose to tour Kampala city and have another overnight stay or drive straight to Entebbe International Airport and fly back home, thus coming to the climax of your three days in the Pearl of Africa – Murchison falls national park.
