Day by day tour.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali and transfer to Kahuzi-Biega National Park.
A flight will bring you to Kigali airport in Rwanda where you will meet the driver-guide that will take you through a briefing about this short great 3 days D.R.C lowland gorilla safari. Immediately, start a road transfer to Bukavu city in D.R. Congo where you will spend this first night. Cross the border at Rusizi near Cyangugu, where you may spend a few minutes to complete clearance procedures.
Upon arrival, you will check in your accommodation for dinner. All you need to know is that Kahuzi-Biega national park is one of the most important destination for gorilla trekking in the southern Kivu region. This park offers the best scenery and varied vegetation zones which have favored existence of Eastern low land gorillas.
Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Safari.
Have breakfast and drive to the briefing point in Kahuzi-Biega Park which will enable you to undertake the experience smoothly. Learn about the behaviors of these primates as you go through the dos and don’ts while trekking. The dos and don’ts don’t differ from others while trekking and among others include; no feeding animals, do not eat in the presence of gorillas, do not mimic and don’t use flashlights while taking pictures.
You will then head into the jungle and start the search for these primates. This can take about 2-7 hours while searching but an hour is allocated to you while in their presence as you take different photos and interesting videos. After the trek, return to the lodge and relax.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali, Rwanda.
Have an early morning breakfast and transfer to Kigali Airport in central Rwanda with an option of visiting many enroute attractions in Nyanza and Huye as well as the famed Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.
This is a historical place where millions of people were masquerade innocently during the 1994 bloody tribal war between the Hutu and Tutsi. The driver-guide will thereafter drop you back at the airport, to mark the end of this tour.
